We rolled into Andrew Molera campground around 7:00 last night, only to find that all camp sites were taken. Not to be dissuaded, we rolled down the 1 mile dirt path and checked it out for ourselves.
It was true…all camp sites had been taken. So with our nicest newlywed tone we asked a lone camper at the last site if we could share his site. He congratulated us and said he was more than happy to share (his name was Craig) and we shared our last 2 porter beers we had been hauling since Capitola with him.
In the morning we ventured out to the beach to see what was to be seen. It was pretty spectacular.
After Andrew Molera Campground we entered Big Sur, and closed in on our final destination… The Ventana Inn and spa.
We decided to take one last pit stop at the Riverside Inn, and cooled our toes in the Big Sur River while enjoying a couple beers and a portabello sandwich.
Finally we embarked on the 1200 foot climb up to the Ventana Inn, where we sit now prepared for a couple days of serious relaxation and pampering….
Our “just married’ sign brought about hundreds of beeps, rounds of applause, a bottle if wine courtesy of other newlyweds, Meghan and Brian, even hugs and prayers from Sue at the market in Carmel!… Amazing how.many people.will stop to talk about love. And encouraging on a long day……more pictures to.come.from the real camera.
Until then, thank you if you are reading this, your encouragement and support this week has really touched our hearts.

This morning we enjoyed a solid breakfast in Monterey before heading to the Monterey bay aquarium, a wonderful exhibit of deep sea creatures, jellyfish and seahorses.
Aaaaand, penguins and puffins aaaand a giant octopus….
We left Monterey and climbed a few hills…. Not much later, maybe 20 hills, the challenging terrain of big sur!
We just finished (bean burrrrrrritos, thinking of you Brenda and Nicole!) at Andrew molera state park, heading to our final destination, big Sur, tomorrow!!…..

We spent the night at the Venetian Hotel, the same place my mom and dad spent the first night of their honeymoon after getting married at Camp Campbell.
So excited to be still after wedding preparations, we were still for a little to long…and all of the restaurants in capitila had closed by the time we got outside. But we were more than happy to sit inside, watch tv, and eat pizza. It was awesome.
We spent most of the next day lounging on the beach after breakfast, then we rode up and down the coastal hills to Manresa State Beach.
After a lovely and peaceful night of camping, we headed for Monterey Bay.
Lunch at Moss Beach
Noisy seals…but oh so cute.
Dropped some flowers from the wedding into Elkhorn Slough in honor of Fran.
Great bike path the last 15 miles to Monterey.
And here we are! A well deserved glass of wine after a chilly and windy day and six hours of pedaling. Time to kick our feet up until we leave for Big Sur tomorrow…

First of all, thank you all so much for coming to our wedding! What an incredible day, the emotions are still sinking in.
We are now happily on the road for honeymoon, staying the night in Capitola.
We’ll be heading south around the Monterey bay tomorrow, and camping out tomorrow for the first time as husband and wife!

Hey, wondering what the wedding weekend entails? There’s some more info here on the wedding weekend page:

A few of our out of town guests have had (good) questions about airports. Santa Cruz and Boulder Creek where the wedding weekend will be are approximately 1.5 hours South of San Francisco. The closest airport is San Jose, CA. (SJC)
Please don’t hesitate to contact us should we be able to help answer ANY questions, big or small! email@example.com

Welcome to our wedding site. We are excited to spend some time together this August in celebration of our marriage. It’s going to be a weekend full of some of favorite things… music, campfire and food, but most importantly time with each of you, our family and friends.
